| Abstract: | N-gram language models ignore the deeper structure of language. We argue for complementing the traditional statistical language models with rule-based linguistic knowledge. We present our ongoing work and some evidence that grammars can indeed decrease word error rate (WER) even for utterances outside the grammar's scope. |
