PISA Publication

This publication introduces  PISA and specifies the corresponding interface syntax and semantics (pdf):

@InProceedings{,
    author = {Stefan Bleuler and Marco Laumanns and Lothar Thiele and Eckart Zitzler},
    title = {{PISA} --- A Platform and Programming Language Independent Interface for Search Algorithms},
    booktitle = {Evolutionary Multi-Criterion Optimization {(EMO 2003)}},
    pages = {494 -- 508},
    year = 2003,
    editor = {Carlos M. Fonseca and Peter J. Fleming and Eckart Zitzler and Kalyanmoy Deb and Lothar Thiele},
    series = {Lecture Notes in Computer Science},
    address = {Berlin},
    publisher = {Springer}
}

Documentation of Selector, Variator, Monitor and Performance Assessment Tools

The tools are individually documented. The link to this information can be found via the Library of Selectors and Variators. The documentation of the monitor module is available via the Library Performance Assessment. The documentation of the tools for performance assessment (normalization, filter, indicators, statistical tests, attainment function, dominance ranking) is included in the corresponding distribution, see the Library Performance Assessment. Further information is contained in the tutorial described below.

Tutorial on Performance Assessment

This tutorial reviews the current state of the art in statistical performance assessment of stochastic multiobjective optimizers, derives general recommendations, and demonstrates the implementation of the suggested guidelines on the basis of a case study (pdf):

@TechReport{KTZ2005a,
    author = {J. Knowles and L. Thiele and E. Zitzler},
    title = {A Tutorial on the Performance Assessment of Stochastic Multiobjective Optimizers},
    institution = {Computer Engineering and Networks Laboratory (TIK),
    Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich},
    year = {2005},
    type = {214},
    month = jul
}

The tutorial was given at the Third International Conference on Evolutionary Multi-Criterion Optimization EMO 2005 in Guanajuato, Mexico (pdf).

Other Relevant Publications

The following paper describes a Benchmark application for comparing multi-objective optimizers (pdf):
