Ericsson Release Version Chaos: a try to get it straight
There are several versions of the Bluetooth module ROK 101 xxx available. It is not clear how this naming scheme is derived, and every day, new rumors spread. So here is a try to get it straight:
The modules are made up of a Radio, BB Controller, Memory and Firmware.
ROK 101 007
spec 1.0b
supports point-to-point at the moment
supports no PCM I/O at the moment
supports USB
all types of data/voice
ROK 101007 P3D ships with Baseband Firmware P9A
might support point-to-multipoint in the future
might get 1.1 prequalified...
ROK 101 008
spec 1.0b + critical errata qualified (email Eurodis)
supports only point-to-point
support for 2 voice channels
i was told by my ericsson rep (eurodis switzerland) that the ROK101008/21R3A is a Bluetooth qualified (1.0b+errata) version of the module with only point-to-point communication, no USB support and support for 2 voice channels. i have a datasheet of this one. but the datasheet says bt1.1, although this is not true for the product...
ROK 101008 P3G ships with Radio P9A, Baseband HW P5A und Baseband Firmware P13A and USB
Overview Power Consumption
!!! Note that values given here do not necessarily compare as they originate mostly from datasheets and from different system setups. Usually the worst case was considered. But they give an impression of what you can get out of such a system. !!!
