Iuliana Bacivarov joined ETH Zürich, Switzerland, as a post-doctoral researcher in the Computer Engineering and Networks Laboratory in 2006. She received MSc and PhD degrees in micro and nano-electronics from National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, France, in 2003 and 2006, respectively. She received the electronics engineer degree from National Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, Romania in 2002. Iuliana's research interests are focused around design methods, models, and tools for many-core embedded systems, in particular for the mapping of parallel applications to these massively distributed architectures. Her work addresses system-level models and methods for programming, analyzing the performance, and optimizing such systems. Currently, her research is applied to EU-funded large scale projects: SHAPES, EURETILE, PRO3D, COMBEST, and PREDATOR. She is also coordinating project activities in SHAPES (January 2006-December 2009), EURETILE (started January 2010) and PRO3D (started January 2010). As well, Iuliana is involved in teaching, tutoring master and semester theses at ETH Zürich and giving lectures on hardware-software codesign (2006-2011). Previously, she taught basic electronics, programming languages, and embedded systems design techniques (2000-2006) at both National Polytechnic Institutes of Bucharest and Grenoble. |
